Warwick 152

Western Stars 155-2

Western Stars stayed on course for a Camel Cup spot with an emphatic eight-wicket triumph over Warwick at St. John's Field.

Half centuries from Jermaine Postlethwaite and Cleon Scotland spurred the home side to what was an easy win, Postlethwaite notching 51, while Scotland remained unbeaten on 54 at the close.

Earlier Stars had dismissed Warwick for a modest total of 152, with Justin Robinson bagging three wickets, while Arnold Manders and Hasan Durham each claimed two.

Allan Douglas Jr., showed his class with a well played 40, the top score for Warwick, while Daniel Caines contributed 39. However, in the absence of any other useful contributions the total was never going to be enough.

Somerset Bridge 69

Bailey's Bay 70-2

Bailey's Bay strolled to a convincing eight-wicket victory over hapless Somerset Bridge in a match that was over by 3 p.m. following a noon start.

Bridge batted first, but following a solid start that saw Ryan Sheperd and Andrew Wilson put on 43 for the first wicket, the home side collapsed under the weight of accurate medium pace bowling by Stephen Outerbridge and Dennis Pilgrim, who shared all 10 wickets to fall, with the former grabbing five for 21 and the latter five for 24.

The innings will also be remembered for Clifford Simmons' reaction to being caught out by Corey Hill off Pilgrim, as he showed his disgust in knocking down the stumps, which is sure to bring disciplinary action from the local governing body.

Rodney Trott top scored with 27 not out in pursuit of the winning target, while Dennis Trott was next highest at 16.

Bay, like Stars, remain on course for a Camel Cup spot, that goes to the top four teams at the end of the season.

Flatts 252

Police 242

Flatts emerged with a slim win over Police at Devonshire Rec., as the visitors collapsed just 10 runs short of the required target.

Flatts built their sizeable total on the strength of numerous contributions, with Phillip Burgess high man on 49, while Rahji Edness (39), Nakia Smith (35), Brendan Woolridge (32) and Vernon Eve (23) were the others among the runs.

Police's Andrew Rollins fell short of the century he had predicted a day previous, notching 51 before being run out. Dennis Archer was next high with 49.

Somerset 210

Willow Cuts 204

Somerset barely held on to defeat neighbourhood rivals Willow Cuts, the latter paying the price for a slow over rate during the home innings, with their charge to victory cut short at the death.

The loss of five overs made all the difference as Cuts came up seven runs short of victory despite having a wicket in hand.

Andre Hendrickson top scored for the visitors with 69 runs, while other solid contributions came from the bats of Dexter Basden Jr., (42) and his uncle Richard Basden (41).

Wendell White took three for 26 as the fourth bowler used, while Tony Cheeseman's off-breaks yielded two scalps.

Earlier Cheeseman topped the home batting line-up with 31, with Sheridan Ming adding 26 of his own, Davon Wade 27 and Jacobi Robinson 21.
