Opening batsman Dion Stovell smashed a brutal 123 and Jacobi Robinson grabbed four wickets to inspire Bermuda's Under-19 national squad to a 15-run win over First Division newcomers Leg Trappers at the National Sports Centre.

Blasting his way to the season's first century, Stovell - who has also been nominated for tonight's BFA Young Player of the Year Award - became the first local player to reach triple digits on the newly-laid surface at the National Sports Centre.

Bermuda's Under-19 squad are currently gearing up for July's Under-19 World Cup qualifiers in Canada.

Others making notable contributions for Bermuda were Shannon Raynor (27) and Western Stars young duo Jekon Edness (12) and Treadwell Gibbons Jr. (11).

Former Somerset Cup Match spinner James Swan was the pick of Trappers bowling, returning impressive figures of three for 30 from nine overs.

Graham Strange and James Broadbent finished with two for 34 and two for nine respectively as Bermuda's lower order bats suffered a major collapse after Stovell had provided his team with a solid start. Bermuda were bowled out for 208 in 41.1 overs.

In reply, Trappers Graham Strange led his team's run chase with a polished 36 while others also getting among the runs were Justin Freisenbruch (28), Andrew Harris (22) and opener Gary Knight, who stroked 22.

Bermuda's youngsters also found stubborn resistance from Swan who scored 19 and Chris Fleming (17) before Robinson returned to produce a devastating second spell. Ripping through Trappers lower order, Robinson finished with remarkable bowling figures of four for 24 off only 7.5 overs as the First Division club were finally dismissed for 193 in 41.5 overs.

Supporting Robinson were George O'Brien Jr. who grabbed two wickets for seven runs off just three overs and Dwia Blyden who managed two for 22 from five overs.

The Under-19 squad resume training today at the National Sports Centre.
