Kavin Smith ran away to a convincing victory in yesterday's Athletic Club 5K . . . and then was left pondering over whether to run home after discovering his motorcycle had been stolen during the race!

The eight-time May 24 Marathon Derby champion won by well over a minute as he clocked a fast 15 minutes and 46 seconds, with second placed Tracy Wright finishing in 17.04.

Ricky Sousa placed third in 17.49, triathlete Kent Richardson fourth in 18.08 and Norbert Meyer fifth in 18.15.

Anna Eatherley exacted some revenge for her defeat by Lynn Patchett in the May 24 Derby as she took ladies' honours in 18.46, 12 seconds ahead of her rival.

Victoria Fiddick was the third female in 19.41.

Junior honours went to Dorian Armstrong in 21.50 and Danielle Farrington in 25.58.

A total of 92 runners completed the race.
