Tre Simons' legs are picking up where they left off in the Under-12 Front Street Mile last month.

To date he has won all three KPMG Junior Running Series races in the 8-10 boys' division.

The eight-year-old running sensation seems set for victory in this year's series and, it's hard to imagine that this is not the start of something special as the youngster continues to develop his ability. He already knows what it's like to beat older competition as he trounced a field which included his seniors in the January event.

In the higher divisions, last year's winners Kor-von Tucker and Taijuan Talbot are continuing their domination. Both have three-out-of-three victories and seem sure to repeat as series champions. Next year, Taijuan will have a chance at becoming the series' first ever "three-peater" as he will still be eligible for the 13-15 division.

There have been no surprises either in the 8-10 girls' division as last year's runner-up, Charlene Grant, is well ahead after notching two victories and a third place. Kiara Baxter and Kaitlyn Miller are locked in a duel for second but don't seem likely to catch Charlene in the overall standings.

Shellicia McKenzie was expected to repeat in the 11-12 girls' division and it looks as though she will. She has a perfect record except for having been pipped at the post in the Butterfield and Vallis race by Front Street Mile winner Dinae Lightbourne.

In the older girls' division, Tiara Simmons has three victories and is set to be crowned champion at the end of this series, ahead of newcomer Selina DeSilva.

This Sunday's junior races, to be held in conjunction with the MRM Five Flat Miles Race out at the west end, comprise the fourth event of the series which concludes on March 16 with 1500 metre and 3000 metre races on the National Stadium track.
