Somerset hung on to hold Cleveland to a draw in a game that went down to the wire.

Cleveland made a solid start in the first innings when Jeff Tyrrell (58), Lavar Talbot (41) and Greg Talbot (39) took them to within nine runs of 300. Kamal Bashir took one for seven off two overs.

In reply, Reid Jones struck 66 for the home side while Azeem Pitcher scored 29 and Bashir 28, but they still fell 177 runs short.

Dennis Musson jr. was the leading bowler for Cleveland with three for 34. Shakai Darrell had three for 35 and Tyrrell three for 38.

Cleveland piled on more runs with a good second innings total of 198, Darrell top scoring with 56 while Kevin Shiell hit 44 and Tyrrell 32. Jordon DeSilva claimed two for 44.

With a victory unlikely, Somerset?s intention was to survive and this they did with DeSilva high man on 19 and Devon Wade on 18. Darrell picked up two for 16 and Charles Robinson two for 19.
