West End rivals clash again

Bragging rights will be to the fore when Somerset Trojans take on local rivals Somerset Eagles in the third round of the FA Cup.

The draw was made at Bermuda Football Association headquarters yesterday and paired the two Premier Division teams against each other.

The sides met in last season's competition with the Eagles staging a dramatic late fightback to pull off a 4-3 victory.

Eagles were in the First Division at the time and had trailed 3-1 before turning the game on its head.

This season they prop up the top division with just six points from nine games. Trojans are two places better off in sixth with ten points from their nine games.

Mark Trott's Trojans saw off BAA 4-0 on Sunday while Eagles put three unanswered goals past St. George's.

Dandy Town, meanwhile, await the outcome of tonight's second round clash between North Village and MR Onions at Devonshire Rec. (9 p.m.).

The Hornets have to wait to find out who their opponents will be at St. John's Road after Village and Onions' game on Sunday was called off in controversial circumstances, the Premier Division side declaring their pitch unfit for play with their rivals unaware.

Key West Rangers, who shocked First Division Wolves 3-2 on Sunday, are rewarded with a tie against top flight Devonshire Cougars at Devonshire Rec.

The final match-up pits Southampton Rangers against Prospect at Southampton Oval.

All the matches are scheduled for Sunday, February 23 with kick-offs at 2.30 p.m.
