Breaking News: Under 19's World Cup hopes in tatters
Bermuda 55; England 56
Bermuda bowed out of the Under 19 World Cup in Malaysia today after crumbling to a heavy ten-wicket defeat at the hands of Test nation England.
Batting first, the Islanders could only muster a feeble total that was never going to be enough to topple an England side that ruthlessly destroyed Ireland, also by ten wickets, in their opening Group D clash last Sunday.
Only opener Chris Douglas managed double figures, scoring 21 off 36 deliveries in a knock containing three boundaries.
Number eight bat Jordan DeSilva chipped in with nine off 33 balls while there were 11 extras.
Bermuda were skittled out in 28.5 overs.
In reply, England raced to victory in only 10.4 overs without loss to secure their place in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
With no chance of qualifying for the last eight, Bermuda now have only pride to play for when they take on ICC Associate rivals Ireland on Thursday.
Bermuda lost to Bangladesh by 178 runs in their opening Group D match.
