Cann's 35 in vain as Bermuda fall to Danes
Bermuda 113/all out
Denmark 114/5
Bermuda's cricketers began their post-World Cup era in disappointing fashion losing to Denmark in their first European tour warm-up match in Brondby.
The Islanders were bowled out for 113 off just 33.4 overs with Lionel Cann (pictured), who retained the Cup Match trophy with St. George's at the weekend, top scoring with 35. Denmark's Thomas Hansen's 7-13 were the best bowling figures ever for the Danes. Ryan Steede, Arthur Pitcher Jr. and Lionel Cann picked up a wicket each with Dwayne Leverock taking a pair as the hosts went on to win by five wickets, scoring 114 runs.
The second 50-overs match against Denmark is today and neither are full one-day internationals because the Danes did not qualify for the World Cup and ODI status.
Just four of the World Cup squad are part of the tour with skipper Irving Romaine new vice-captain Stephen Outerbridge, Lionel Cann and Dwayne Leverock.
Many players have chosen not to travel due to work commitments or personal reasons.
