Match is abandoned after bottles are thrown
A First Division fixture between YMSC and Paget had to be abandoned with ugly scenes once again rearing their head at Bermuda's football grounds. The referee ordered players from BAA Field fearing for their safety in the 47th minute after supporters launched a bottle and other objects onto the pitch on Tuesday night. YMSC had been winning 2-0 at the time.
When contacted, Bermuda Football Association officials did not comment on the incident.
Earlier in the evening Prospect United's game against BAA was also called off because only one official turned up. Back in October a First Division match between Paget and Wolves had to be abandoned five minutes from time after a gang of blade-wielding youths attempted to storm Devonshire Rec.
According to the BFA's mandate for safety and security at local football venues the association and clubs have a "duty to ensure that players, officials and spectators alike enjoy football in a safe and secure environment".
This week's other First Division fixtures saw Somerset Eagles beat Wolves 4-3 and St.David's draw 2-2 with X Roads.
