Outerbridge ruled out for rest of tour by knee injury
Stephen Outerbridge has been ruled out of the rest of Bermuda's tour of Kenya and United Arab Emirates (UAE) after a scan revealed cartilage damage to his right knee.
The opening batsman will be sidelined for six to eight weeks after incurring the injury while attempting to prevent a boundary during Bermuda's defeat in the third one-day international (ODI) against Kenya at the weekend.
It represents another setback for coach Gus Logie already without pinch-hitter Lionel Cann with a two-game ban for serious dissent, and all-rounder Kian Butterfield who was sent home after injuring his ankle tripping over in his Nairobi hotel room.
A BCB spokesman said the tour management had decided not to call-up a replacement for Outerbridge for the four-day Intercontinental Cup match against Kenya, which starts tomorrow.
The 24-year-old underwent a scan on Monday with the Bermuda Cricket Board currently rearranging his flight schedule so he can return to university in Cardiff, Wales without delay.
