Rawlins linked with BFA post

ZBM sports reporter Ian Rawlins has tendered his resignation and is currently being linked to a new administrative post at Bermuda Football Association (BFA).

Rawlins officially handed in his resignation to management at Bermuda Broadcasting Company (BBC) late last month and is now understood to be among those having applied for a new programme director's position at local football's governing body.

Earlier this week the BFA announced former Crystal Palace academy coach Derek Broadley as the association's new technical director, as well as top US coach Keith Tabatznik as a short-term assistant to national coach Keith Tucker.

The BFA have also hired a chief financial officer but have yet to announce the successful applicant.

Meanwhile, The Royal Gazette can also confirm senior national football team trainer Gary Ray has resigned.

The former Somerset Trojans player tendered his resignation late last month after a short time on the job, due to personal commitments.

Ray was recruited by former BFA technical committee chairman Mark Trott to assist with Bermuda's 2010 World Cup preparations and was also a key member of former national coach Kyle Lightbourne's technical staff during his tenure at the helm of the senior national team.
