Devonshire Rec. 73-1

Devonshire Rec. and Police appear to have gained promotion by finishing one and two in the First Division after yesterday's final round of fixtures.

But all of this will depend on what will come of the points from an abandoned game between Devonshire and Leg Trappers – the Bermuda Cricket Board having already awarded the points to Devonshire but Leg Trappers reminding them of a agreement between the two teams to have the game replayed.

Yesterday at Devonshire, the home side assured themselves of maximum points with this emphatic nine-wicket victory with Lamont Brangman and skipper Dean Stephens combining to take six wickets between them. Brangman finishing with three for nine off 6.4 overs with three maidens while Stephens claimed three for 22 off seven overs with a maiden. Khari Furbert was the high man for PHC with 18.

Devonshire bats wasted little time in taking their team to victory with Ricardo Brangman jr. slamming a quick 41 not out and big Tori Henry undefeated on 24.

Cal Waldron took the lone wicket for PHC at a cost of 38 runs while bowling six overs with two maidens.

While Devonshire were winning, Police went down to Somerset Bridge by 73 runs, Bridge scoring 188 and Police managed just 115 in their game at White Hill.

At Somerset, Leg Trappers were soundly beaten by Willow Cuts. Batting first Cuts posted 231 for seven with young Deuante Darrell striking 71 not out and skipper Dexter Basden 51. Leg Trappers were all out for 143.
