A US school tennis team has been grooving their way into form at the Coral Beach Club this week.

Choate Rosemary Hall is an independent secondary school enrolling boarding and day students from Connecticut and around the world. The team leaves the Island tomorrow.

The school's tennis season traditionally begins with an optional spring break training trip. In recent years the team has ventured to Hilton Head Island, Florida, and Southern California.

In 2006, the squad travelled to China, visiting Beijing and Shanghai and trained at the Shanghai Racquet Club.

The school has three squads for boys in the spring and their teams play the intercollegiate format, competing in six singles and three doubles matches with players permitted to play both singles and doubles.

Two of their graduates have gone onto play on the pro circuit and in Davis Cup competition.
