Match-play Championship with a comfortable five-and-four victory over Paul Murphy yesterday morning at the Riddell's Bay Golf Club.
And he followed that with an eight-and-seven thrashing of R.Marshall in the afternoon to book his place in the final.
James, who is one of Bermuda's most promising young golfers, is presently an 11th grade student at David Ledbetter Academy in Bradinton, Florida and believes that his experiences abroad have had a positive effect on his game.
"It (school) has been really helping me with the mental side of the game because when I was in Bermuda I was not able to concentrate so much on golf but now I'm focused more.'' While at school, James endures a rigorous routine of studies from 7.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., followed by golf from 1 p.m to 6 p.m. and it is this hard work that is now starting to pay dividends as he recently won the Fecchio Cup by a whopping nine stokes.
"In the US the competition is a lot harder. The people I am playing against are ranked in the top 10 in the nation,'' said James.
James, 16, also has a keen interest in becoming an architect but his ultimate goal is to play professional golf.
