Andrew Trott overcame strong winds and chilly temperatures to shoot a winning score of six-over-par 77 as junior golf action continued at Port Royal last

Trott led home group five, four shots ahead of second-placed Chris Smith (81) with Chaka DeSilva taking third on 87.

In group four, Matthew Durrant fired 85 to take top spot, two shots clear of Ryan Mello (87) and six ahead of third-placed Aaron Burrows (91).

In group three, played over nine holes, Kwame Tucker fired 42, and Paul Murphy and David Smith both 45, Murphy taking second on retrogression.

At Belmont, the novices held a six-hole captain's choice tournament which saw Krystle Phillips, Romano Dill and Seb Dimmock edge out the team of Marco Smith, Thomas Edwards and Tyler Marshall on retrogression.

The novice B programme at Horizons saw Michael Watts score an excellent 34 over nine holes followed by Daniel Ezekiel (42) and Daniel Augustus and Robert Hern (both 43).

Tournament play continues tomorrow at St. George's GC (groups one, two and three) and Castle Harbour GC (groups four and five).

RUGBY RUG Contrary to the rugby report in Tuesday's Royal Gazette , in Second Division action last Saturday, Police did field a team for their match against Mariners and walked away 22-12 winners.

The Gazette was under the belief that as they had to use players from other clubs -- some of whom play regularly in the First Division -- the points had been forfeited.

However, it has been learned that Police and Mariners reached an agreement before the start of the game and the result will stand.
