Birchfield School, from Wolverhampton, lost a hockey match against a Bermuda youth team 4-2, after earlier in the week having gone down 3-2 to one of the host schools, Saltus, in a soccer match. They fought back with a 5-2 win at soccer over the other host school, Warwick Academy, and also enjoyed an informal track meet. This weekend they take to the cricket field.
JUNIOR GOLF GLF In the final tournament before next week's Glidden Bowl, Fraser Hunt gave the rest of the field notice that he will be a strong competitor as he fired a three-over-par 73 in BJGA play at Ocean View. David James matched Hunt throughout the afternoon before conceding on retrogression. James' brother, Aaron, also played well, finishing in third on 74.
In Group Four, Jarryd Dillas led the way with 78, four shots ahead of Ted Terceira. David Smith finished third on 80. Zachary Simmons took top spot in Group Three with 73. Paul Murphy was second on 88, edging out Steven Royal on retrogression.
William Tucker's 41 over nine holes won Group Two. Steven McGuinness was second and Alex Doyle third. Among the novices, James MacMillan fired 30 over nine holes, two shots ahead of Barry DeCouto while Camiko Smith took third place with 34.
