Bermuda soccer team bows out of world
another courageous performance, going down 4-2 to Canada.
After five weeks of World Cup fever the dream of reaching America '94 finally died -- but not without a fight.
Last week Bermuda staged a fightback only to lose against Jamaica. And they did the same again yesterday after Canada looked to be cruising to a 3-0 victory.
Shawn Goater and Sammy Swan combined to grab a goal each to rattle the home side with only 15 minutes left before a breakaway goal by the Canadians sealed Bermuda's fate for another four years.
Fans will have the perfect opportunity to show their appreciation to the team for keeping their hopes alive for so long when the formalities are completed in the last qualifying match against Canada at the National Stadium on Sunday, December 6.
The Bermuda team are due to arrive back on the Island from Canada on Tuesday.
