Spin twins Arnold Manders and Wayne Richardson led the league chamypions to a 145-run win at St. John's field and kept them two piints behind leaders St.

George's yesterday.

When Manders was introduced into the attack, Bridge had passed the half-century mark with two wickets down.

But a five-for-11 spell in 7.4 overs, to go with three for 14 in four overs from Richardson, quickly had them packing their bags.

O'Neil Virgil was the only Bridge player to put in some time at the wicket with 21 coming in 64 minutes. Craig Brangman (11) and Alfred Carter (10) were the others in double figures, Carter's dismissal signalling the beginning of the collapse.

Stars were never in serious trouble when they batted, but a fine bowling spell in the middle stages of the innings kept them at bay. It needed an unfinished 57-run stand for the eighth wicket between skipper Gary Brangman and recalled Roger Leverock to take Stars to a comfort zone. Stars had slipped from 136 for two to 168 for seven before Brangman (47 not out) and Leverock (16 not out) were brought together.

Anthony Foggo, batting at number three, top-scored with 56 while Andre Manders tallied 43.

Gary Crofton took two for 17 from a mean 10-over spell, Sidney Simmons two for 39 and Craig Brangman two for 45.

Devonshire Rec. 237-8 Cleveland 196 Roger Trott struck 95 and skipper Albert Steede hammered 78 to lead Devonshire Rec. to a 41-run victory over Cleveland at Sea Breeze Oval.

Cleveland's skipper Peter Philpott led his team's fightback with a gallant 48 while Wayne Smith scored 32, but their efforts fell short of what was required for them to win. Mark Trott took four for 40 and Erskine Smith had three for 39.
