Deloitte and Touche trounced Oasis 20-9 with Richard Drennan going 4-for-5 and Robin Sarkar 3-for-4. For the losers Chris DeSousa went 4-for-4 and Viv Redford 3-for-4.
Ace beat Texaco 14-4 with Mike Fisher and Scott Quinn slamming nine hits between them. Paul Claude and Patrick Cooper had five hits between them for the losers.
GOLF GLF Saturday's Junior Golf Association tournament saw Ryan Marshall lead the way in the Novice division with a gross score of 30 at Belmont, edging out Ryan Mello on retrogression. One shot back in third place was David Spurling.
Group II play was led by Charles Markey who fired 63 over 13 holes at Port Royal.
Markey nipped Aaron James by one shot and Rajesh Pachai by two.
Jeremy Drover won the Group III section with a 15-hole score of 69 while in the top division, Group IV, David James was victorious with a 62. James was followed by Craig Brown on 65 and Dwayne Simons on 68.
MARTIAL ARTS MAT Bermuda's grand patriarch of the martial arts, Skipper Ingham, who introduced karate to the Island in 1970, is featured among the world's elite in a new martial arts reference book.
Sensei Ingham is named along with such greats as Muhammad Ali, David Carradine, Jackie Chan, Reylson Gracie and Goju-ryu expert Chuck Merriman.
Also highlighted are the Bermuda Invitation tournaments that Ingham promoted in the late 1980s which attracted talents such as Billy Blanks, Steve Anderson and Linda Delany.
The `Martial Arts Source' book, published in 1994, is written by John Corcoran.
VOLLEYBALL VOL The Winter League concludes on Sunday with a round-robin tournament at Mount Saint Agnes gym.
