Tournament yesterday.

The Massachusetts team, led by pro Jimmy Norris, shot 61 at Castle Harbour in the best-ball competition played over four Island golf courses for a net score of 178 overall, two shots ahead of their nearest challengers, Brick Landing, from North Carolina, Lakewood, of Maryland, local club Ocean View and Toronto GC. Ocean View, led by pro Dwayne Pearman, are the defending champions while Toronto had shared first place after Tuesday's second round.

Prestwick of Scotland, and Westchester Hills, of New York state, are a further shot back on 181.

The Port Royal team are on 182 with Plantation Country Club, of Vedra Beach, Florida.

Prestwick had the best round of the day at Mid Ocean -- a 59 -- while St Louis, of Missouri, enjoyed the best round overall yesterday with a 57 at Belmont, traditionally the lowest scoring course.

Kim Swan's St George's team shot 63 at Port Royal -- the day's lowest on that course, while the 59 carded by East Aurora, of New York, was the best at Castle Harbour.

The local Riddell's Bay team of Darron Swan, Duncan Zelkin, Andrew Trott and Michael Branco took a three-stroke lead in the gross tournament, their 194 putting them ahead of Brick Landing and Lowes Island, of Vancouver. Ocean View, Raleigh, of North Carolina, and Sharon, from Massachusetts, were a further shot back on 198.
