Mr. Andrew DeCosta and co-driver Mr. Chris Smith (pictured right) wave the chequered flag after crossing the finish line first in yesterday's annual Round the Island Power Boat Race.

Their victory marked the third successive year they had taken honours in Class A.

But not everybody in yesterday's event, run in difficult, choppy conditions, had something to smile about.

Mr. Paul Sant and Mr. Stuart McInnes (pictured above) are seen struggling to save Mr. Dean Boorman's boat from a watery grave after the craft flipped near Dockyard.

Mr. Boorman and co-driver Mr. Sean Tavares were admitted but later released from hospital after being treated for neck injuries sustained in the crash.
