PHC, Rude Girls in cup final
Girls gained two victories to book a place in Saturday's Konica's Cup final against PHC Teasers.
On Monday, the league champions hammered BAA Royals 7-0 with Swan netting three and Furbert two. Other goals came from Ricketta Warner and Chequita Parsons.
On Wednesday night Rude Girls stopped Wolves Girls 3-0 with Furbert netting two and Swan the other.
PHC made certain of their place in the final when they also won 3-0 at BAA field. After missing two breakaway chances, Player of the Match, Waynesha Bean, made amends in the 43rd minute with a toe-poked goal.
Bean increased the lead in the 58th minute with her second goal when she rounded the 'keeper and scored into an empty net. Bean capped a fine match by creating the third goal for Romeka Brangman after racing past a defender in the 78th minute.
BAA missed a chance to pull a goal back in the 83rd minute when Isabel Sousa shot wide from the penalty spot.
Action continues tonight at Devonshire Rec. where Devonshire Cougars face Devonshire Colts in an important First Division encounter. Paget will also be back in action in the 7.00 opener, trying to stop PHC from increasing their lead at the top of the Second Division.
