Pitcher wins in a play-off

fourth hole of a play-off to take the 15-17 age group title at the Atlantic Junior Championships yesterday at Mid Ocean.

Conditions in the final round made it extremely tough on the two youngsters but Pitcher kept his cool to shoot a par on the 16th hole to edge out Terceira who could only manage a bogey.

Terceira forced the playoff when he shot a 78 on the last 18 holes to wipe out Pitcher's two stroke lead after Pitcher shot an 80, both outstandings scores considering the conditions. Both play off eight handicaps.

In the boys 18-21 division, Justin Barritt hung on to beat Jonathan Blauner of the US, by four shots. Barritt carded a final day 87 while Blauner went four better with his 83.

Tyler Marshall proved victorious in the boys 11-12 while Mark Phillips won the under 10 age bracket.
