Rangers back on track: First Division soccer round-up
Ireland Rangers got back to their winning ways after their FA Cup exit in midweek, beating Prospect at Malabar Field with two Jermaine Saltus goals to maintain a perfect record at the top of the table.
Saltus opened the scoring in the 37th minute and added a second in the 58th as Rangers moved towards their fourth straight win.
Stevie Lightbourne kept it close, however, with a goal for Prospect in the 61st minute, the first conceded in the league by Ireland Rangers this season.
Social Club 3 Som.Eagles 2 After 74 minutes without a goal, the floodgates opened at Bernard Park with five goals coming in a frantic seven minutes.
Dennis Russell opened the scoring for Social Club in the 75th minute only to see Stephen Burrows equalise a minute later. Russell restored Social Club's lead from the penalty spot in the 79th minute after he was brought down by Adrian Burrows who was sent off for a second cautionable offence.
Burrows committed a similar foul on the same player in the first half which earned him a booking.
But even with 10 men Eagles were a tough team to keep down as Dion Woolridge equalised just a minute later to make it 2-2. Erick Dunkley scored the winner in the 82nd minute.
St. George's 3 Ham.Parish 3 St. George's equalised twice in the second half to deny Hamilton Parish the points at Wellington Oval.
Parish led 2-1 at the half through goals from Sean Dill and Chris Caisey while Mackie Crane replied for the home team. Gregg Foggo scored from an angle on the left to make it 2-2 early in the second half before Dill netted his second goal of the game when he beat the St. George's 'keeper at the near post a few minutes later.
Player-coach Neil Paynter earned the home team a point with their third goal midway through the half.
Paget 1 Dev.Cougars 2 Shawn Smith's header seven minutes from time gave second-placed Cougars maximum points in a hard-fought clash at White Hill Field.
Smith rose at the far post and headed down a right-wing cross into the bottom left-hand corner of the net as a long spell of Cougars pressure finally bore fruit against a well organised Paget defence.
Cougars had opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Jeremy DeShields forced home from close range after a well worked free kick.
Paget equalised just three minutes later, when veteran Dale Russell scored direct from a 25-yard free kick against his former team.
