Spectators were treated to some exciting performances as Kai Jay Davies placed first in the under-12 100 and 200 metres and second in the long jump, showing great potential in all three. So did his Dellwood school-mate, Terrance Dill, who had three firsts in the 400, 800 and 1500 metres.

In the under-12 girls' division, Michelle Trott of Clearwater finished first in the 100 metres and long jump.

The under-14 section also saw some outstanding performances, such as Jonathan Smith's (Spice Valley) win in the 100 metres and a tactical 800 metres victory from Mark Morrison of Saltus.

In the girls sprints, Kendae Gill of Warwick Academy placed first in the 100 metres while Kristin Eve of Dellwood borke the tape first in the 200 metres.

The first track and field meet involving CedarBridge will be held today and tomorrow at the National Sports Centre when the senior secondary schools take to the track.

Today's competition will involve the majority of field events while Saturday sees action on the track. Today's events start at 10.00 and Saturday's at noon.
