Simons powers the Rangers
Two goals by Rohaan Simons enabled visiting Southampton Rangers to record their second win in a row yesterday.
Simons snatched what proved to be the winning goal after 71 minutes, steering the ball home from an acute angle on the left from 15 yards that struck the upright and rolled into goal.
Earlier the home side played good enough to take the initiative, going ahead 1-0 after six minutes on a goal by striker Michael Brangman from just six yards.
And the Trojans were unlucky afterwards when striker Lamaul Crofton watched in agony as his screaming drive from just inside the box crashed off the bar before being cleared.
But Southampton refused to yield and pulled level a minute before the interval when Simons converted a penalty after defender George Bremar pulled down a player in the penalty box.
It was left for Simons to settle it with his individual act.
The Trojans had the misfortune of having Bremar sent off for a second yellow card by referee Anthony Mouchette after 81 minutes.
