Swan fifth in US event
competing in Florida.
The St. George's pro tied for fifth place in the North Florida PGA Matanzas Open which attracted a field of 45 players.
Swan, who ran away to a 14-shot victory in this month's Bermuda PGA tournament at Castle Harbour, made his move on the second and final day when he fired a one-over 73, the second lowest round on the 6,985 yard Matanzas Woods Golf Club at Palm Coast.
The course was designed by Arnold Palmer and played host to the 1987 PGA Tour School finals.
After an opening round of three-over 75 which put him in 17th place, Swan played better on the second day in windy and cold conditions.
He birdied holes one and four and was cruising at two under before three-putting on both seven and eight for bogeys. After making the turn at even par he bogeyed 11 and 14 but birdied 17 to finish one over for the day and four over for the tournament.
The event was won by Mark Bucek with a 36-hole total of 141 (three under).
