Swan's on song

Player-coach Sammy Swan struck twice on Saturday night at Somerset to keep PHC on course for a quick return to the First Division.

The veteran striker opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Stephen Astwood made it 2-0 in the 21st. Swan struck again in the last minute of the first half and Desmond Crockwell closed out the scoring in the 86th minute.

Akil Lambert of Ireland Rangers was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

St. George's 3 St. David's 2 Bottom-placed St. George's upset the promotion aspirations of neighbours St.

David's in a scrappy match at Wellington Oval.

Goals from Yusaff Pitt, Marco Lovell and Clifton Simmons sealed the win to lift St. George's off the bottom of the table. Second-placed St. David's replied through Del Tyrell and a Lionel Cann penalty. The loss enabled leaders PHC to open a seven-point gap at the top.

Prospect 7 Social Club 1 John Richmond blasted a hat-trick in the space of 21 minutes to lead Prospect's rout of FA Cup quarter-finalists Young Men's Social Club at Devonshire Rec.

Richmond struck in the 32nd, 44th and 53rd minutes to kill off any hopes of a Social Club fightback.

Michael Thoams, in the 13th minute, started off the scoring for Prospect and Andrew Rollins doubled the lead four minutes later.

Perry Puckerin netted a consolation goal for Social Club in the 59th minute, but further strikes for Prospect by Dennis Archer and Andrew Bissell in the last 20 minutes rounded off their comprehensive victory.

Paget 0 Som.Eagles 3 Somerset Eagles struck twice in the final five minutes to seal their win over Paget at White Hill field.

Eagles led only by Ruffins Hill's 18th minute strike when Paget began to tire late in the game and Eagles struck in the 85th and 87th minutes to make certain of victory. Darren Dowling scored the first of the two late goals while Darren Outerbridge hit the other three minutes from the end.

Two players were ejected in the 80th minute for violent conduct, Hill of Eagles and Paget's top scorer Jermayn Pond, after Pond was fouled and retaliated before Hill threw a punch.
