Iris was first in forms, second in weapons and third in sparring at the House of Samurai Invitational Karate Championships in Londonderry, New Hampshire.

Iris, who has won several local and international championships as a junior, was among a number of Islanders representing the Bermuda Karate Institute.

First-time competitor Shelley Fox was fourth in beginner forms, while Angela Tull-Simmons, competing at the Masters level, took a second place in women's weapons Over-35 and a first in Kata Over-45.

Michael Burrows, meanwhile, was second in forms and third in sparring in the adult men's black belt division.
