Two dismissed as Boulevard clinch rare win

An own goal by former Boulevard player Leonard Hypolite in first half injury time enabled the struggling Blazers to pick up three valuable points in a scrappy match at St. David's.

And while the points will help the home team's fight for survival, they will need to improve greatly on this performance which resembled a team in difficulty near the bottom of the standings.

On two occasions late in the second half the match threatened to get out of hand when, first Nakia Smith of Wolves and Boulevard's Amon Brown squared up to each other after Brown was fouled.

Both escaped bookings by referee Stuart Crockwell, though Albert Caisey and Nathan Webb were not so fortunate in injury time when they were involved in a scuffle and were sent off.

Webb, a second half substitute for Wolves, head-butted Caisey after he was fouled and Caisey struck back as a few angry female spectators raced onto the pitch, one swinging a helmet. When order was eventually restored both Caisey and Webb were ejected.

Once again Wolves goalkeeper Hewvonnie Brown got in the middle of the confusion, this time racing the length of the pitch to get involved, which brought an angry retort from his coach Dennis Brown.

Brown, who made an important save to prevent Haile Outerbridge from doubling the Boulevard lead minutes earlier, was beaten in first half injury time when 28 Blazers win From Page 27 as Alfred Wolffe challenged.

The ball rolled untouched between the two and into the far post. It turned out to be only the second win in the league for Boulevard.

Wolves had had the better of the first half opportunities with the goal coming from a rare Boulevard attack, harmless though it seemed.

Andre Hendrickson turned a shot around the post from Tori Davis in the 14th minute and then Julian Francis threaded a pass into the box where the marked Ellington Weldon got off a shot that just missed the far post.
