Vasco 0, Dandy Town 4
night and sent them tumbling to a one-sided defeat in this match-up at PHC Stadium.
Entering the game in a three-way tie for first in the tables, Dandy Town showed just how serious their intentions were of winning the league with a spirited second-half performance when all four goals were scored.
They were no means overawed by their opponents' fine run, methodically cutting them down to size with the four-goal blitz after Vasco had done well to hold them at bay until the half.
Dandy Town were revived in the second half by substitute Kris Martin who scored twice, the first goal coming after 82 minutes when he headed home a Carlos Smith cross to make it 3-0 and the second, a firmly struck free-kick from 25 yards which gave goal-keeper Keenan Tucker no chance.
But it was centre-half Troy Durham who gave Dandy Town the lead, putting the finishing touches to a free kick by Paul Cann after 48 minutes.
Then with Martin coming on as a substitute for Mitchell Wells after 58 minutes, Dandy Town took a decisive edge and within a short span the hard-working Carlos Smith made it 2-0 when he sent home a blistering left-footed drive from 16 yards.
Vasco, anxious to collect points to clear relegation worries, looked decent for awhile in the opening half but were clearly inept up front.
After 15 minutes Smith masterfully rounded a defender only to blast a 16-yarder inches outside of the post to the dismay of his team's followers. He followed this up six minutes later by putting a better effort inches outside again.
With Albert Wolffe labouring and few others able to make any real impact up front, the Vasco attack was kept in check by Dandy Town's defence.
Larance Durham sent a fierce 20-yard shot that goal-keeper Cymande Davis could only palm away, and the rebound fired over by Irving Burgess who was following up.

Referee: Keith Smith Men of the match: Voorhees Astwood (Vasco), Devarr Boyles (Dandy Town) St. George's 0 North Village 2 St. George's will no longer be able to boast about not having conceded a goal at home in the league, after two second half mistakes by defenders were capitalised on by North Village at Wellington Oval.
The home team should have been in front by the time Elliott Jennings broke the deadlock just minutes into the second half, having created the better of the first half chances before, as usual, being let down by poor finishing.
They forced a diving save from goalkeeper Dwayne (Streaker) Adams as early as the fifth minute when a curling low shot by Sinclair Gibbons was turned around a post.
At the other end midway through the half, Troy Hall blocked a shot from close range from Ricky Hill after Jennings supplied the cross from the right.
The best of the St. George's chances in the first half fell to Carlos Greaves who wasted a good one in the 24th minute when he won possession inside the Village area but choose to pass to a team-mate -- the ball went to an opponent -- instead of shooting himself with Adams out of position.
Greaves had another chance in the 26th minute, this time after Melvin Simmons went into a block with Adams outside the Village area. Greaves, nearby, tried a first time volley on the edge of the box but the spinning ball sliced off his foot and went wide of open goal.
Soon after the striker connected with a header, but the effort went just over the bar.
St. George's, determined to get back on track after two recent league and cup losses, looked fluent going forward but were clearly lacking in ideas and confidence in the final third of the pitch. At the other end, tough-tackling captain Neil Paynter and Franklyn Greaves held the defence together.

Devonshire Colts 3 Southampton 0 Devonshire Colts got well in a hurry against visiting Southampton, snapping a two-game losing streak in the league while extending Southampton's record of futility to four straight.
Two first half goals from the trusted right boot of skipper Ellington Weldon, including a spectacular 30-yard blast, and a second half tap-in by Mark Ray made for the final scoreline.
Any notion of a Rangers upset was discarded early with the home side attacking early in waves, forcing several hasty clearances by the opposing defence led by Donnie Charles.
A sign of the times came early as midfielder Ray unleashed a long range effort in the 13th minute only to have his try fall safely into the arms of goalkeeper Randy Darrell.
However, there was little the former Bermuda international could do to keep out Weldon 15 minutes later when the striker gained possession near the centre circle, dribbled several steps before unleashing a ferocious drive that seared into the top right corner.
In complete control and dictating the action, Colts stormed forward, utilising fine work in midfield by Ray, Leonard Hypolite and Vic Ball, supplying the front runners.
Rangers, meanwhile, appeared to come up against a hidden force-field on the odd occasion they ventured into enemy territory.
A mistake by Charles allowed for Colts' -- and Weldon's -- second goal, when the sweeper's overzealousness in dislodging the ball from the striker resulted in referee Keith Smith awarding a penalty.
Weldon picked himself up off the turf to take the spot kick, this time choosing the top left corner.
The second half painted Darrell in the spotlight, as he was called on to perform an array of acrobatics to keep the score respectable.
Smith, Weldon and substitute Quincy Aberdeen were each thwarted by Darrell's superlatives.
It was left for Ray to punctuate the match, with a 78th minute tally from four yards, following a parry by Darrell off an Aberdeen scorcher.

Somerset 2, St. David's 1 Somerset clung on for a hard-fought victory after failing to kill off bottom club St. David's.
The Trojans should have buried the visitors in the first 60 minutes, but instead they allowed them to fight back and almost pull off a draw.
One shot was cleared off the line, one hit the bar and a goal was disallowed as they pushed St. David's back into almost certain relegation.
The day started badly for the bottom club when Earlwin Wolffe was stretchered off with hamstring trouble, but St. David's never looked like repeating last week's gutsy performance in the east end derby.
In the first 20 minutes alone Somerset forced eight corners and it was the eighth that set up the first goal. The ball bounced out to Rodney Bascome who crossed for Randy Simmons to blast the ball into the roof of the net.
Reggie Tucker was the busiest player on the field outside the St. David's defence and in the 36th minute looked to have scored the second but his long shot ricocheted back off the bar.
Goal number two was not long in coming and again it came from a corner. George Cann looped the ball in and it pinballed off three people before Clifton Anderson chested it over the line.
The second half started much the same way but Somerset's fans were getting annoyed with the team's tendency to try one move too many before getting a shot in.
After 65 minutes a bizarre incident saw Bascome's name going into referee Peter Sousa's book. Linesman Rex Osborne spotted the Trojans striker leaving the field while he was in an offside position. He returned to the field without permission and was booked.
St. David's were starting to put a couple of moves together and in the 72nd minute one of their few corners taken by Otis Minors landed at Steven Jones's feet and he launched the ball into the net. This was just the boost the visitors needed and they started to press with both James Pace and Eugene Crockwell almost equalising before Somerset breathed a sigh of relief with the final whistle.
Somerset: A. Swan; G.Cann (V.Davis 87 mins), L.Simmons, T.Dickinson, A.Rahman; S.Arorash, R.Simmons, C.Anderson (R.Brangman 73 mins), R.Scott, R.Bascome, R.Tucker.
St.David's: S.Minors; G.Swainson, M.Kelly, S.Pitcher, E.Wolffe (R.Smith 3 mins); S.Jones, E.Crockwell, J.Laws, L.Cann, O.Minors, J.Pace.
Referee: Peter Sousa.
Men of the match: Reginald Tucker (Trojans), Michael Kelly (St. David's).
HIGH KICKING -- Devonshire Colts' forward Craig Smith, left, challenges Southampton sweeper Donnie Charles for possession early in yesterday's encounter at Frog Lane. Smith was called for a foul on this play, but there would be no halting Colts as they routed Rangers 3-0.*l
