Walkers raise $1.15m

yesterday, raising more than $1 million for The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society which fights blood-related cancers.

The event incorporated a five kilometre fun run, a half marathon (13.1 miles) and full marathon (26.2 miles) walk, starting and finishing on Front Street in Hamilton.

Sponsoring of walkers both in Bermuda and overseas resulted in some $1,115,000 being raised to benefit leukaemia research worldwide.

The event was sponsored by the Bermuda Department of Tourism, produced by Strategic Resources Allocation Group, and logistically supported on the Island by Bermuda America Special Events.
