A lead-up show for the upcoming FEI/SAMSUNG International Dressage competition was held on Saturday at Vesey Street.
Bermuda riders will be competing in this event as part of Group II, which includes Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru and Guatamala.
Two FEI International Dressage judges arrive here on October 1 for four days, with Bermuda being the first stop on their tour through the Group II countries.
The competition will be held at the Vesey Street Centre on Tuesday, October 3 beginning at 10.30 a.m. and there should be eight riders competing in the Prix St. George's test.
The same judges, Linda Zang of the US and Angelika Frooming of Germany, will also judge another group of riders for the local championship.
The Vesey Street Centre was in fine shape for Saturday's competition when a total of 36 events were held.
ROAD RUNNING RUN PHC will hold a three-mile road race and walk on Saturday starting at PHC Stadium at 8.45 a.m. for the walkers and 9.00 for the runners.
The competitors will do a lap around PHC field before leaving the gate and taking a left turn onto Middle Road, heading west to Burnt House Hill. The course continues along Harbour Road before turning right onto Longford Hill and heading to Middle Road before turning right again and finishing back at PHC Stadium.
There will be awards for the first three finishers in each of the four categories, junior male and female (under-19), male and female open (20-39), male and female masters (40-49) and male and female senior masters (50 and over).
There is an entry fee of $5 for juniors and $8 for 20 and over with late entry fees being $7 and $10. The entry fee for walkers is $2. Entry forms should be returned to the International Sports Shop, The Sportseller or to the PHC Club by 5.00 on Friday. Race numbers will be issued on race day.
SOCCER SOC Dandy Town will hold a training session and registration for their Mini Minor team on Friday at St. John's field starting at 5.30 p.m.
Southampton Rangers will hold a registration for Pee Wees, Mini Minors and Minors on Saturday morning at Southampton Oval starting at 10 a.m. The coaches, Andre Scott, Wayne Raynor and Tillman Darrell, will also be in attendance.
There will be a training session for all North Village Rams Commercial Division players tonight at 6 p.m. at the Berkeley School field.
