Ace Oettel suffers first loss
race day victory in the 125B class on Sunday...but not before suffering his first defeat in 15 outings.
Oettel looked headed for another clean sweep when he won the first moto.
However, in the second race he was slowed by two falls and had to settle for fourth as Aaron Pace picked up a victory.
Oettel, who has been in Bermuda since November 11, leaves today but is planning to return for the Boxing Day race meet.
Sunday's fourth Pepsi National meet of the season was held in windy and dusty conditions which caused vision problems for the riders. Carlston Burgess was second in the 125B class with a third and two seconds while Wentworth Tucker had a fourth and two thirds to finish third overall. Pace was fourth.
Treadwell Nesbitt retained the lead in the 125C class after two wins and a second while Steven Oughton, second, had his best finish with a second and two thirds. Cavon Perinchief was third.
Melone Munro won the 80 Mod class and now leads Steven Panchaud by 72 points.
Gary Cann returned to his winning ways after losing races in the 80cc and 65cc classes. Cann enjoyed another hat-trick of wins in the 80cc class while Chris Perinchief had three seconds and Jerome Dowling came in third.
Cann was back in action in the 65cc class after sitting out the previous weekend because of engine problems and he also raced to three wins to maintain his overall points lead. Anthony Grant and Tullio Escolastica were second and third.
Zahkie Iris won the 50cc class but had to fight for the win as Canadian Geordie Wall won the first moto before encountering bike problems. He placed second in the next two motos while Iris picked up two wins to go with his second in the first race.
