Victory will confirm Southampton's place in the BTI Champion of Champions final against the winners of the Central and Eastern Counties next Sunday.

With Southampton coach Randy Raynor already boasting that they will conquer all challengers and prove that they are the best of the counties, losing to lowly Somerset Bridge and failing to advance to the Champion of Champions competition will prove to be quite embarrassing.

But fellow coach Olin Jones refused to be provoked into publicly agreeing with Raynor's optimism, remaining tightlipped when asked to give a comment about his team's chances in this weekend's clash.

His silence was obviously designed to prevent any undue pressure on the shoulders of his teame -- a burden probably already put on them by Raynor's remarks this week.

Southampton are sticking with the same team that took them to victory over Willow Cuts in the previous round, retaining the services of hard-hitting opening batsman Dexter Smith and medium pace bowler Clarkie Trott-- two guest players.

Somerset Bridge have made one change to their league side, bringing in veteran all-rounder Arnold Manders as expected. And skipper Corvett Lambert didn't attempt to hide his confidence after naming his side on Thursday night despite the fact that it included three colts.

"We intend to go onto the field full of confidence in this final, our aim is to win it outright. We have just taken one guest player this time because we feel it is our right to stick with the players who have supported us throughout the entire season,'' said Lambert. Southampton: Olin Jones (capt), Janeiro Tucker (vice capt), Kwame Tucker, Carl Garzette, Dwayne Steede, Ryan Belboda, Dexter Smith, David Burchall, Gary Crofton, Clarkie Trott. Reserves: Garry Williams, David Saltus. Somerset Bridge: Corvett Lambert (capt), Denzil Dill (vice capt), Shannon Tankard (colt), Leroy Brangman, Andrew Wilson, Ronald Richards (colt), Adrian Burrows (colt), David Jones, Arnold Manders, O'Neil Virgil, Brian Gibbons. Reserves: Jerome Richards, Maurice Pringle Tomorrow's Knockout final at White Hill field will see a match-up between rivals St. David's and favoured St. George's just one week after both sides knocked out their opponents in the semi-final with just 10 players apiece.

But with St. David's pulling off their feat against reigning Knockout champions Bailey's Bay, they have boosted their spirits immeasurably for this season-ending finale, acccording to coach Delby Borden.

However, the St. George's camp should be just as inspired after beating a formidable Police side with 10 men at Sea Breeze Oval.

While nobody can deny the fact that St. George's have been the most successful team this season, St. David's feel that they can stop their opponents' fine run by beating them this time around.
