Batting first Police scorched the opponents bowling for 266 runs in 40 overs to which WIA could only reply with 201 for eight.
Leading the way for the victors in the batting department were Devonish Small (56), Wayne Clarke (51), Chris Graham-Ward (40) and Richard Austin (32). Elvon Clarke grabbed three wickets for WIA while Ken Savery returned figures of two for 37.
Andrew Boyce scored 69 hard-earned runs when WIA batted, assisted by Jerry Calendar (30) and former Cup Match star Colin Blades, who scored 25.
Man-of-the-match Austin completed a fine all-round display taking three for 32 from eight overs and team-mate Junior Watts finished with two wickets.
The Police cricketers leave the Island on Saturday to embark on a four-match tour of the Bahamas where they will be guests of the Bahamas Cricket Association.
Three matches will pit the local side against combined Bahamian squads while the other will see them take on their counterparts from the Bahamian Police force in a match for the Commissioner Bartlett Trophy, currently held by the Bermudians.
They will also be on hand to witness the celebration of the 500th anniversary commemorating Bahamas' discovery before returning to Bermuda on October 14.
The Devonshire Rec. tour group will hold a meeting at the club at 6.30 p.m.
