Another shattering loss
Championships in Montserrat when a second-half surge by previously winless Dominica gave them a 72-36 victory.
The first half was a closely-fought affair with Dominica leading 14-10 and 37-21 at the end of the first and second quarters respectively.
However, the floodgates opened following the interval as the height of Bermuda's opponents became too much of a burden for the defence to bear.
At the same time, Bermuda's shooting dried up, which compounded matters.
Dominica moved ahead by 26 -- 54-28 -- after three quarters and poured in a further 18 points in the fourth for the final score.
Goal shooter Debbie DeShields weighed in with 30 points off 30-of-45 shooting, while Nicole DeGraff, who replaced Rose Richardson at goal attack, registered six.
The starting line-up played the entire 60 minutes unchanged and team manager Debbie Saltus said that they had improved vastly from the 61-19 hiding handed them by Antigua on Wednesday.
"Their passing and movement was good, but there was a constant breakdown in getting the ball inside the circle,'' said Saltus. "They definitely went out there with the frame of mind to win, but things just didn't fall our way.''
