Association A Division on the weekend with a 3-1 win over bottom team Swifts.

Swifts' strong defence kept Canaries at bay in the first half until, with just two minutes before the break, Rhonda Rawlins scored a fine goal for the Yellows from a ball which she picked up just inside the `D' and tucked into a space between the right post and the goalkeeper.

Early in the second half Emma Garon scored a second goal for Canaries from a short corner. And although Chrisanthi Bartley netted for Swifts to bring the deficit back to one, Garon fired home her second and Canaries' third to seal victory for the leaders, their ninth in 11 outings.

Bluebirds moved level on points with Orioles with a 2-1 win over Cardinals.

Bluebirds took an early 2-0 lead with Debbie Flanagan scoring the first in the opening minutes with a reverse hit from a tight angle. Then Linda Pitkethly controlled a long pass, rounded the 'keeper and steered the ball over the line for the second goal.

Cardinals reduced the deficit before half-time, but despite intense pressure in the second half they couldn't find a way through Bluebirds' defence again.

Swallows still head the B Division standings after a 3-0 victory over Orioles.

Liz Osborne gave Swallows an early lead, firing home in the eighth minute from a short corner, and Jenny Burrell made it 2-0 10 minutes later.

Early in the second half Swallows' newcomer Jan Locke scored her first goal from a cross from the right.

Orioles fought hard in the last 10 minutes but failed to convert the pressure into goals.

In the other B game, Bluebirds edged Cardinals 1-0, the winning goal coming from Debbie Flanagan after just 90 seconds.
