A post-race punch-up between Paul Edness and Brett Forgesson provided added highlights at the 1993 finish, which dimmed a fine victory by Hamilton Harriers.

This year witnesses a scaled-down field of 18 teams with nine open male teams, seven mixed teams and one team in both the female open and junior categories.

Leading the list is the squad of five going by the name Back to Basics, containing Frankie Rodrigues, Steven Burgess, Neil Halliday, Loren Belboda and Kavin Smith.

Smith has been a noticeable absentee from the road running scene in recent weeks, reportedly due to his dissatisfaction with the quality of prizes being offered in races organised by the road running section of the Bermuda Track and Field Association.

Tomorrow's relay, however, is being organised by the track and field side of the association with which Smith has a more harmonious relationship.

Expected to challenge Basics are Swan Runners, with Wayne Mouchette, Ray Ming, Roddy Bassett, Ed Harris and, the `old man' himself, Ray Swan competing.

This year's race route has a notable change from last year as the third leg will have competitors travelling from the Shelly Bay MarketPlace to South Shore via Collector's Hill.

Race numbers can be collected today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation.
