Bermuda Golf Association's second medal play tournament, using the new format for the Order of Merit standings, takes place at Ocean View next Saturday,

Players wanting to compete in the event need to be members of the BGA and hold a handicap index of either 10 (men) or 12 (ladies).

The Order of Merit will determine team selection for the next World Amateur Team Championships and under the new format only scores that are no more than six over the course rating will be accepted. At Ocean View, the course rating for men is 67.1 and for ladies 70.2.

In the opening medal play event at Mid Ocean, Zane DeSilva earned a maximum 25 points after firing the low round of 72. Paul Williams picked up 20 points with a three-over par 74 while four players -- Millard Beach, Barry Brewer, Chris Phillips and Robert Spurling -- each earned 10 points with scores of 76.

Entries for next Saturday's tournament should be called in to the BGA secretary on 238-1367 by 6.00 p.m. Tuesday.
