Bermuda women struggle at world team tournament

the third round of the Women's World Amateur Team Golf Championships in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in France.

The trio of Madeline Joell, Kim Marshall and Judithanne Astwood followed up rounds of 159 on both of the first two days with a 164 -- derived from the top two team-mate's scores -- for a three day total of 482.

Marshall had the best day, carding a 79, while Astwood shot a disappointing 85 and Joell 86, as the small, but fast, greens once again proved an adventure for the Bermudian females.

Still leading the competition heading into the final round is the United States trio headed by Wendy Ward, who shot a five-under-par 67 to go with team-mate Carol Thompson's 74 and Sarah Ingram's 78.

The US, with a total of 423, leads Australia and Spain by eight strokes heading into the final round today.
