Bermuda's darts team slipped from fourth to finish fifth in the team standings of the Caribbean Darts Championships in Florida.

The team standings were headed by hosts Florida on 62 points with Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago tied on 52 points. Bahamas was the other team ahead of Bermuda on 39 points, with Bermuda finishing on 36.

Bermuda's position was unchanged for the overall final standings after collecting an addition six individual points. Florida were also the top team in individual points with 40 while Jamaica had 22 and Trinidad and Tobago and Bahamas 11 each.

Bermuda lost to Jamaica 7-4 and then thrashed last-placed Turks and Caicos 11-0 in their final two matches.

Peter Mills of Florida won three finals, beating Chris Wells 2-0 in the men's singles and teaming up with Brenda Haskell to beat V.Dyal and A.Murray of Trinidad and Tobago 2-1 in the mixed doubles final.

Mills capped off a good individual tournament by joining up with Chris Wells to win the men's doubles final 2-1 over Steve Howell and J.McHaffee, also of Florida.

RUGBY RUG Injuries and unavailability have already taken a toll on all clubs after only two weekends of rugby.

This could lead to some surprisig results this coming weekend. Certainly a big upset could happen in the Mariners-Police first XV game on Sunday.

Mariners, unfortunately, have a few players off the Island but Police's first XV are severely depleted with injuries to Alan Oliver (shoulder separation last Sunday) and Gareth Davies (dislocated elbow). Davies will be out for six weeks.

Other key players unavailable for Police are captain Ian McLelland, Gary Osborne and Sean Field. It is up to Jon Harris to rally his men against Mariners.

For Renegades, first XV Wade Tihema (twisted knee) and Steve Given (torn knee ligaments) are on the injured list from last Sunday, while Ali Nicol has a damaged calf muscle from training.

However, Renegades will be glad to have Barry Whitehead and Phil Heaney from injury and this could give them the edge against Teachers who will be relying on their faster forwards in the absence of the injured Scott Correia and Mike Montgomery.

For the second XV games on Saturday, results will be dependent somewhat on who gets promoted to fill in the first XV spots. However, Teachers can expect to see Ron Hook, Tony Roache and Albert Moura show their faces in the second XV game against Police.

On Sunday at noon the youth programme kicks off at Nationals for any boys between the ages of six and 16.

Weekend schedule Saturday: 2nd XV -- Mariners v Renegades (2.00), Police v Teachers (3.30).

Sunday: 1st XV -- Mariners v Police (2.00); Teachers v Renegades (3.30).
