Bermuda's top water skier, Kent Richardson, showing that age has not diminished his talent, recently achieved his best performance in over five

Competing in Florida at the Ski Paradise Pro Qualifier in Sun Set Lakes Okahumpka, Florida, Richardson achieved his stated goal in the slalom of two at 35 off -- rounding two buoys at with his pull rope shortened by 35 feet.

This occurred on the second day of competition at the tournament that also featured tricks and jumps and followed Richardson succeeding at making a full pass at 32 off.

"I've been after this score -- two at 35 off -- in slalom for a long time,'' Richardson said. "It was dream come true just to make the full pass at 32 off in (competition).

"I've been making it in training, (but) it just wouldn't click in the tournament, but today was better than ever.'' The Bermudian rounded out things with a 3,700 score in the tricks event, which was good for first place in the category and enabled him to wind up third overall.

An agreement is said to have been forged with Transworld International and NBC Sports to have TV-4/11 carry exclusive coverage starting on Saturday, June 25.

Over 30 hours of world class tennis is being promised by VSB.

"Because of our affiliation with NBC Sports we are able to once again offer viewers one of the premier sporting events of the year,'' station manager Mike Bishop said in a press release.

SNOOKER SNO Third time proved a charm for Stephen Roberts.

After two unsuccessful attempts, the local snooker wizard finally achieved the honour of being Bermuda's best after capturing the Four Star Pizza Open Championship.

Roberts downed Steve Bremar 4-2 in the final after being runner-up two of the last four years to Paul Charleton and Steve Dunleavy.

Still, it was Bremar who had the better start to the proceedings, winning the first frame 47-40 on the black ball and Roberts could have been excused for wondering if he was destined to hold the bridesmaid tag forever.

However, Roberts responded by reeling off three straight games with scores of 35-24, 43-34 and 47-27, the last tally including a 30 break.

Bremar, though, kept his hopes alive in the fifth frame in edging Roberts 48-47, but the latter sealed the deal in championship style with a convincing 64-37 win in the final.

On his way to the title Roberts counted the likes of Roger Henderson, Zane DeSilva and Brian Haxton as victims.
