SAILING SLG Local youngsters between the ages of 15 and 25 are invited to apply for crew spots on ships entered in the Tall Ship Race in 2000.

The race is organised by the International Sailing Training Association and a number of berths have been secured for locals. But the Bermuda Port Committee need to know who is interested.

The fleet will leave Cadiz in Spain on May 7, 2000 for Bermuda, taking approximately three weeks to get here. It will be followed by a trip to Boston on June 12 with legs to Halifax and Amsterdam rounding out the summer.

Experience is not a requirement as the Bermuda Port Committee have arranged for Bermuda youth to sail in short races or cruises in 1999 with UK Sail Training Association as well as short offshore trips here in Bermuda.

Anyone interested should write to Brian Billings at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club (PO Box HM 894, Hamilton, HMDX).
