David's scored a pair of runs in their half of the third inning to tie the score at 5-5. AICO pitchers could not stop the barrage as St. David's erupted for eight more runs in the fourth inning. By the time the match was over, they steamrolled to a 15-6 victory.
Winning pitcher Michael Glasford was boosted by key hitting performances from James Pace, who was three-for-four including a homer and three runs-batted-in.
Hedley Furbert had three hits in three plate appearances while Derrick Tucker was tagged with the loss, despite his two hits.
St. David's continued their batting prowess in the second game when they demolished AICO 19-7 behind the torrid hitting of Pace, who added four more hits in the nightcap, to boost his batting average to an incredible .875 in the play-off series.
Furbert kept his hot bat alive with three hits to give him an .857 batting average after two games.
Twilton Hartman managed two hits in three plate appearances, while Gilbert Beek was two-for-two in the losing effort for AICO.
Cock and Feather took a 1-0 lead over Gateway Herd in their play-off series behind the pitching of Dennis Pamplin who continues to be effective. Ian Chalmers led the offensive thrust with three hits, including a home run and two RBI. Chris Schullar was two-for-three and he also blasted a Nigel Godfrey offering over the fence.
Gary Carr and Pat Persse were offensive stars for Gateway.
Business Systems were 1-0 leaders in their series against BF&M after a 17-12 victory.
They needed four runs in the fifth inning to seal the victory, however, and Dane Brown provided the heroics with a towering two-run home run off a pitch from Donny Moniz who suffered the loss. Overall, Brown was three-for-four including a double and four RBI.
Business Systems got much-needed firepower from Deon Cann, who was four-for-four (all doubles) and Gene Stuckey provided three hits.
