Boulevard, Somerset to try again
(abandoned, light failure) A few lights blew out on one of the corner poles and with only 15 minutes of an exciting match remaining, referee Esten Curtis reluctantly abandoned Saturday's night's fixture at Somerset.
After five minutes of deliberating, and waiting to see if there would be any improvement in the lighting around the Somerset goal at thet northern end, Curtis called off the match.
He confirmed afterwards that he had spoken to the Somerset goalkeeper Winslow Williams who expressed concerned about the quality of the lighting.
The game will be replayed in its entirety at a later date.
The abandonment came just as both teams were preparing for an exciting final 15 minutes of a contest that produced plenty of excitement but no goals as Somerset Trojans held their own against their in-form opponents as a battle of the two midfields ensued.
Williams made some important saves to keep Somerset in the game while Somerset, with Lamaul Crofton a threat with his speed up front, had a goal ruled out in the 73rd minute for a hand ball against Crofton.
