Ham. Parish 46-6 A week before opening the defence of their Western Counties title, Somerset Bridge were bundled out for just 45 by Hamilton Parish in this First Division Overs match at White Hill Field on Sunday.
Irving Burgess, whose previous claim to fame certainly hasn't been in the bowling department, was devastating with the new ball as he snatched six for 22 from eight overs. Perry Simmons then completed Bridge's misery by taking three for five from just 11 deliveries.
In all Somerset Bridge batted for just 15.5 overs with E.Johnston their top bat with 14 -- after the first four batsmen all failed to score -- while captain Corvett Lambert contributed 10 not out in the tailend.
Parish didn't have everything their own way as they went in search of a modest target, losing six wickets in the space of 12 runs after Dennis Trott (six) and Mike Burgess (18) had put on 28 for the first wicket.
A.Wilson claimed four for 15 for Bridge and M.Bean two for six.
PHC 173 Warwick 175-7 Warwick, who will be Somerset Bridge's opponents on Saturday in the Western Counties, scored an impressive three wicket win over another Western Counties side, PHC, at Southampton Oval.

James hit 14 fours and two sixes in his innings before being sixth out on 171. Waldron, Shoron Hunt and Neil Anglin all took two wickets.

Reginald Pitcher led St. David's bowling with three for 31 while George Cannonier, Del Hollis and Kameron Fox all claimed two wickets apiece.
An opening stand of 96 between Dean Pitcher (32) and captain Shea Pitcher (55) put St. David's well on their way and useful contributions after that from Philip Pitcher (29), Rudell Pitcher (17), Allen Richardson (18 not out) and Del Hollis (42 not out) completed the job.
