Brigham: Bacardi a breeze this time
Bacardi Rum Trophy as the junior division winner of yesterday's Bacardi Rum Goodwill Professional tournament at Port Royal.
Brigham, representing Rumson Country Club of New Jersey, carved up the field in stroking a splendid two-under-par 69.
It was in stark contrast to a year ago, where he could only manage a mistake-filled 76 that earned him just $180 and put him 13th, four strokes behind winner Bob Mucha.
Meanwhile, among the seniors Greenwich Country Club's Jerry Coats' 71 was enough to extinguish a solid field and put him at the top of the heap.
Coats, like Brigham, rebounded from a terrible round a year ago when he ballooned to 82 and out of the money at the picturesque course at the Island's west end.
Two holes-in-one were recorded on Tuesday during the Goodwill team tournament, both at Mid Ocean, with Gus Klein, an amateur with Plantation Country Club, achieving the feat at the 13th hole, while Jim Dee of Marshfield Country Club drove from tee to hole at the fifth.
