Chaudiere take charge after a good round
Royal yesterday with Chaudiere Golf Club of Montreal, Canada opening up a five-stroke lead with a four-under-par score of 140.
Yesterday's format was a four ball better two ball using 3/4 handicap. Team Moore now occupy second place after a steady 142 second round score.
Winchester Country Club and Rockland Country Club share third place. Most improved team performance went to Firewheel whose three-under-par 141 moved them midway up the table.
Firewheel are led by LPGA tour founding member Marilyn Smith who is playing in her third Easter Lily Pro-Am.
In the gross division Baltusrol opened up a commanding 10-stroke lead.
Baltusrol are at three-over-par 209 and their nearest rival is Rockland on 219. Chaldiere and Oak Hill are in third place on 220.
Play resumes tomorrow with the professional and amateur individual events at Port Royal. Two time professional Janice Symonds should get good competition from Cindy Ferro, Kammy Maxfieldt, Carla Glasgow and Paul Slavinsky.
