Commercial teams seek cup glory

Second Division and Commercial League will battle for places in the last 16 of the FA Cup tomorrow.

At the end of Sunday's second round, six teams will go into the hat with 10 First Division sides for the third round draw. And again Commercial teams have a good chance of advancing along with Hood.

One other Commercial team is already certain of remaining in the competition as Mariners and Belco are involved in an all-Commercial tie in the opening match at BAA Field (12.30).

While the teams are in different divisions, the fact that Mariners are struggling near the bottom of Group A and Belco are tied for second in Group B should make this a pretty evenly matched contest.

A second Commercial team will also be looking to leave BAA Field tomorrow with a ticket into the third round. Champions BAA Wanderers, who beat Prospect in the first round, look a good bet against lowly Second Division St. George's Colts.

Paget, who saw off Lobster Pot in the opening round last month, face another tricky tie when they meet MR Onions of the Commercial League in the opening match at White Hill Field. The second game there sees Somerset Eagles playing fellow Second Division team Social Club in what should be one of the better matches of the round.

Ireland Rangers should be favourites over St. George's All-Stars in the other match at Somerset (2.30).

The one Commercial League match today sees Devonshire Lions playing Valley in a Group B make-up match at Devonshire Rec. at 3.00 p.m.
